Billie Piper by Odysseus-of-Ithaki Billie Piper by Odysseus-of-Ithaki
This is an old sketch I did of Billie Piper, best known to me as Rose Tyler of Dr. Who. She's my favorite companion on the show, though I like all of them in different ways. Anyway, she's pretty cool...

Give me some feedback people. Tell me what you're thinking.

hmm...you've already said "this is an old" sketch, so I'm not sure if my first thought is of much consequence, but since you asked...

The face looks too wide, although not entirely flat. However, I will say, the individual features are good, and Ie specially like the subtlety of the lips and the dip between the lower lip and the chin...all things which are hard to really pull off.

Yeah, that's a problem I have run into with faces... making them too wide. Thanks though, I appreciate the comment.

not sure if you need this, but it's a good reference sheet. This is a page from Jack Hamm's "Drawing the Head and Figure" (a pretty classic text) [link]

HAH I think I have that book, because I specifically remember this picture. Someone got it for me, I looked it over once and didn't open it again. This is a good reference though, thanks.

yeah, I didn't find the book to be so helpful on the head as I did the figure. His explanation of the line of action, and the pelvis is real good.
